Logo relaunch for Circ Bonboni Children Circus

cb_logo

The Circ Bonboni is a multinational children’s circus. It was founded by three Swiss women living in Dahab. The little artists also come from this Egyptian town. Together with the circus managers we worked out an idea for a logo re-launch. We like the the candy-shaped “O” letter of the current logo, but the chosen font, unfortunately does not produce a lot of circus atmosphere. It is also a bit problematic, that the inner letter-forms are very small and almost disappear in smaller resolutions.

First we looked at the logos of other representatives of the industry to get a feeling for circus typography. One of the better-known “classic” examples that we found is the logo of the Circus Roncalli. And we particularly like the older American logos from the 20th Century, we have discovered in the Circus Historical Society.

The logo we finally created is the result of our research. The key elements have been preserved – but we focused on finding and modifying an expressive font, that suits to the themes children and circus. Concerning the colour scheme we decided to stick to the “traditional” circus colors and chose happy, bright shades of red, yellow and blue.
